An Ode to Heroes. (2014)
 (A1, Conceptual Artwork)

To talk about just one, i have to explain the entire series and the reasoning behind it.
The Idea behind these 4 pieces of artwork was to convey the feelings that these musicians speak to me rather than just do a "realistic portrait" i chose to express their sound through the form of pen strokes.
Music is a large part of us all, it inspires us, it destroys us, it is arguably the most powerful form of art and no matter who the artist is we all have an influence that some how seams into our work.
For example, the bottom left conceptual piece of Jim Morrison, when he was a kid he witnessed a traumatic experience of some Native Americans who were in a car crash that possibly had died, he lived with that, and he drew from that experience and culture and into his poetry, his stage presence.
the idea for his piece was to capture some of that background.
I did so by studying the Native American Tapestry, the color palettes they would often use were very warm and inviting, bright and bold.
so i attempted to capture some of that and with every other musician.
in hopes that every portrait is yes a painting by the same hand but each capturing a different emotion that  emits to me.
