Typography Greeting Card Project

So my next assement is to create a greeting card of my own design for a client that i still have no idea on what they want or the target audience but in the end it's my own and so its my art direction my creative project so anyways, i thought i would share some insight into what im doing.

If you can even understand this mess this is my brainstorming, some concept art, ideas and a bit of the color palette i have in mind for my project.
One thing i have to keep in mind which i struggle to do is having the typography being the strongest and not the illustration.
However im always looking for ways to merge both typography and illustration into a... i guess sort of deco style text.

Here are some things that i have been inspired by for this project. Since im wanting to go with a horror theme with light humour, i have gone through and found some things like the spirals and gothic text from nightmare before Christmas, the dead trees and button from Coraline, the grungey-nes of the nuke symbol and the Frankenweenie text style. for some of the illustration i thought zombies and to go within the theme i looked for one of a more simplistic design such as Plants Vs Zombies.
